Emphasized voices, stories of the past, listening to each one of your egos trying to catch the others attention long enough to hear your pain and the light that keeps you going amongst it all.
I see you.
You don’t need poison to make you intoxicating.
You are breathtaking all on your own.
An ocean of knowledge, strength and beauty so powerful you run from it.
It must feel so good to get it all out, screaming at the TV, going in and out of vision between the game and your stories.
The distraction of the game gives you space and comfort to share your memories, and connect on a deeper level.
I see this light in you.
Light that was once darkness and engulfed me with anger and isolation.
We each find the light in our own ways,
We each get the opportunity to choose which seat we sit in, in the theater of life
—our perspective of what life really is.
But ultimately, we are all looking at the same screen.
We must learn to stay in our seats and not move around to others.
Not try to control others and how they choose to experience their life.
When we do this, we miss the show
—the process.
But when we all remain seated, we give ourselves and others the opportunity to watch our individual perspective of the show, we get to enjoy the seat we already picked for ourselves
—accepting ourselves, our perspective and life as we are.
I get antsy from time to time though,
And I forget how great my seat is,
So I’ll try to block your vision, only for you to take my seat
— forcing you to view life from a perspective that isn’t yours.
But I’m gonna take a break,
Maybe get some candy, go to the bathroom,
And when I get back,
I’ll have to selfishly ask for my seat back,
In hopes that you’ll find your seat again.
But don’t get too comfortable,
Because I’ll probably get antsy again,
I’ll probably get up and ask for your seat again,
And you’ll let me have it,
I know a piece of you likes it as much as I do,
The ups, the downs, the unexpected.
But we’re just watching a production,
How serious do we have to be?
For now, I’m enjoying the change,
I’m enjoying seeing life from two perspectives,
One day we’ll learn to remain seated,
But right now,
I’m getting antsy.
